Regular
Sunday Services are
held at two sites as follows:
1 St Mary's Castle Church
8.45 am Morning Worship with
organ and choir based generally on the BCP. First and third Sundays
Morning Prayer. Second, Fourth and fifth Sundays Holy Communion.
Traditional worship lasting about one hour.
10.15 am Family Worship
consisting of sound Biblical praise
and teaching in a modern setting with interesting music, visual aids
and drama sometimes with congregation involvement. This is led by a
Philip supported by a strong lay team.
For
children of school age there is a coincident Sunday School led by Claire
in the Church Hall.
Refreshment and fellowship afterwards
in the Hall opposite the church. This is our most popular service
lasting about one hour. Holy
Communion on third Sunday in each month.
6.00 pm Evening Worship Another
opportunity to meet together to hear God speak to us from his word.
A quieter relaxed informal service with a mixture of the traditional
and modern. Communion is on the first Sunday of the month. The
third Sunday is an informal Castle
Church Praise.

BAPTISMS
Since serious promises are made in
the Baptism Service some commitment is called for and to this end preparation
classes are held at regular intervals before the actual services.
Special circumstances may be discussed with the clergy but most baptisms
take place in the course of the normal 9.15 am service on the first
Sunday in the month.
WEDDINGS
Since lack of forethought often leads
to break up of
marriage
we do
encourage couples to attend our marriage preparation
sessions where all the aspects can be discussed openly in a friendly
way.
FUNERALS
Funeral services are held at Castle
Church after arrangement with the vicar and breavement conselling can
be offered.
Burials can no longer take place in
the churchyard as it is full and has been closed for some years. Exception
may be made in the case of interment of ashes or where there is room
in an existing family grave.
